Finally finished motor swap.... in the um 250r....
« on: March 28, 2009, 08:15:18 PM »

Well its done.....been a long winter but it came our real nice....Not sure if I would want to do it again... too much work.... A 4 stroke would be easier but to get 125hp from a 4 stroke would add a bunch of wieght (4 cyl) and I did not want that....Plus I love the smell of per-mix in the morning :)

Without knowing anything about the visual apperance
of different motors, he hint thats it's a 2 stroke. Also look
watercooled, and 2 cyl job. So my money would be
on a 350 yamaha. If so it about 60 Hp or about
twice the hp as usual.
However the pic text says Finished 500, so it's
a bit scary to think if it's a yvps 500 engine.
Would like to know what really is trown in there.

Here, any above 20 % increase of hp is illegal, so no
hope for me getting that kit if sold in the future :)

Good job lt1bird. LOOKS like a lotta work.
Sounds like you had fun with it though.
Did you end up keeping the frame stock?

The engine started as a RZ 350(2 stroke)(60hp) but was bored and stroked to a 535 (125hp).

Billet everything...Very radical engine.....Yes the frame was only beffed up in certain locations to help mount the engine and support hardware... Still finishing some small odds and ends...

Still finishing some small odds and ends...
I noticed you left some space behind the radiator.
Putting some fans there? Please pardon my questions, I'm just curious.
Your project is inspirational, to say the least.
