Yoke Protector - Carbon Fiber Look
« on: April 23, 2009, 07:52:55 PM »

I am in the process of working on a sticker that would fit the top of the yoke for the 250R.  I assume it would fit the 650R as well.  It's not a plate, or thick padded sticker.  Just a flat one.  I will post pictures as soon as I have it cut out and installed for feedback.  Would anyone be interested in one?  They won't be much and shipping definitely not much ( probably standard US mail).   if there's some interest I will try to make a few.  I have one sheet of the sticker material right now.  And it will be a 'by hand' job.  I don't have any elaborate machine to cut it.  :)  Let me know if interested.  I 'm just tired of the nicks and scratches on mine.  PM or reply here, either way.  Will have pics soon.

ngales.co.uk have them in stock which are rubber coated.
They are carbon look and seem ok but id prefer a custom jobbie so i made my own.
Could be worth investing in one of theres to use as a template for making your own??
and maybe seeing if any local companies can coat them for you??
Just an idea.

Thanks.. I finished making a template from measurements.  Worked like a charm.  I did it in CAD until it was spot on.  I have the template done now.  Problem I ran into was the sticker material.  It was rolled and thus a pain to flatten out.  But I finished mine and put it on.  The pics are in the camera and will have them up later.  Put nubs on the fork tops too. It works for my purpose anyways.

After

Simple, but effective.

Would you be open to sending me the template in CAD?

Looking at doing this for my bike, and my flatmate's bike (both hyo 650's) and this would really save us some hassle (already hands full building a new pc, CAD compatibility with 64bit vista was perhaps something I should have looked into more before building.)

Might be a bit late, but am looking for a yoke sticker as well - if you can send the template or even print the sticker and post to australia, let me know?

Thanks mate.

i was thinking of getting these until i realised the 2011 models changed and we have one that looks pretty good without anything as the yoke has etchings in it.
