hi, for the last couple of days my bike has been having a problem with keeping up the power, when it goes over about 35mph the revs drop and rise and the bike splutters and cuts out, it will start again straight away (even moving).
the first time it did it it backfired when started an i thought it was crap in the system but it still does it (not backfired since).

NOTE: tried revving it when on neutral and it dont do it

any ideas?

Pull the spark plugs, clean or replace.  Replace the spark plug caps.  The OEM ones are crap.  Check that you haven't pinched the fuel lines.
