Scratches on plastic :/
« on: September 21, 2006, 03:19:45 AM »

Hey guys,

Im new around here and was wondering if this is  the right place to ask for help.

I bought my GT250 about 3 months ago, and some scumbag has gorn and key'ed it on me.

The damage is fairly minimal, the scratches are over the frount of the bike on the fareing next to the headlight, which is all plastic.

Now I know with paintwork scratches you can buff them out with colour-coded wax polishes but this is on the plastic... im not sure what to do.

Thanks for any advice in advance

I don't know where your from but this may help. There has got to be a place where you live where they sell plastic sheet, tubes and rods. Here where I live it's a store that goes by the name of Tripp Plastics. This place sells all kinds of plastic materials so that you can make whatever you want out of plastic. Within this store they have plastic polishing kits. It contains a graduated grit of polishing pastes that will polish out deep scratches in plastic with a little work.   Good luck!!   Hoss

you can get some plastic polished that remove small scratches from plastic, i used to use it on my jeep soft top windows all the time.

It would make it look alot better but maybe not get all of the scratch out...

i think it is 'Mothers plastic polish', you can get it at most car shops
