I had not heard of a repair kit for the pump before you mentioning it so I just moved on to replacing the pump.

You're not alone.  ;D The mechs at my local hyo-dealer had the eyes wide open like toilet lids when I told 'em about the repair kit.

Good luck with your repair!

I spent a little time researching it online but I was only able to find it at the one link you sent me. I'll keep looking to see if I can find it in the states. Do you know the part number for the kit? I figure if I can fix the electric pump I either have a spare or I can resell one of the pumps to recoup some of my cost.

Look for a repair kit for:
    HONDA CBR MODELS
    HONDA NT/NTV MODELS
    HONDA VFR/VT MODELS
    HONDA XL/XRV MODELS
    KAWASAKI VN/ZX/ZXR/ZZR MODELS
    KTM 950 MODELS
    SUZUKI RF/VL/VZ MODELS
    YAMAHA FJ/FZR/FZS MODELS
    YAMAHA XJ/XV/XVS MODELS
    YAMAHA YZF R1/R6 MODELS
Everywhere the same pump!

Try this or this. They sell the thingy for about USD 30 plus shipping. Manufacturer / distributor is K&L or RMCP.

I have a 2012 FI GV250 I requested the electric pump from Korea. It is cheaper that buying it here in the USA. So far I haven't had problems requesting parts from them.
