2007 GV250 Carburetor and fuel hose placement
« on: July 23, 2011, 05:29:04 PM »

Hi all,
Long story short....had to rebuild engine. Putting it back together and trying to figure out where all the fuel hoses (vacuum fuel pump) and hoses from the carburetor go. Took good pictures prior to starting job, but wouldn't you know it, the camera was stolen before we had a chance to down load the pictures. The shop manual doesn't detail it very well. If anyone can point me to a diagram or send me some good pictures, I would appreciate it.

Hi bilbao131,

wait a few hours - my gv250 is "naked" at the moment and I will take some pics today in the evening (CET) after work.

Awesome! Thanks for the great pics, hx. Big favor, any chance you can take one more pic panned out a little further that captures the whole run of lines from the pump to the carbs? I'm pretty sure I have them right, just want to make sure. The smaller lines coming off the carbs, are they just a vent?

hx,
Thanks for the great pics! I have all the fuel hoses hooked up correctly. However, the bike will not start on its own, with or without choke. If I spray a little starting fluid into the air box, it cranks right up and runs nice and smooth. I have one more line that I'm not sure where it goes; I believe it is a vacuum line. hx, in your last picture of the first series of pics you posted, is a close-up of the little vacuum lines coming off of the bottom of the carbs...where does the other end of that go? I have a feeling this has something to do with my bike not starting on its own. Thanks again.

These small hoses at the carburetors bottom (left frame side 2in1) are open at their ends. If you unscrew the small screws above the hoses you can empty the carburetors chambers for maintenance. There is no vacuum inside.
Check the intakes and hoses for air leaks and the fuel pump for correct function. Sometimes the fuel cock / filter are clogged. Are the carburetors ok and properly adjusted? Is the fuel tank ventilation ok?

Hx.

Hi,

I am after the same photos for my GV250 - having similar issues putting it back together. But I cannot seem to see your photos? Could you repost or email them to me?

Thanks :)
