GT650S Sports Tourer front fairing/cowling on a GT250 naked??
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:24:32 AM »

Hello all,

I am new to the forum, Hyosung's, and riding motorbikes so please bear with me.

I recently purchased a 2010 Black GT250 naked from a friend for a great price and I absolutely love riding this bike  :D The only thing is, now I would like to do a few mods to make the bike feel like it's "mine" and not just have the changes my friend has done already if that makes sense.

I noticed the new GT650S front fairing/cowling and really like the look of it, does anyone know if it would fit on my bike or has anyone ever done this mod? I have searched to no avail so far.

Don't get me wrong the bike looks great now with the fender eliminator and screaming demon exhaust, but I think this would be cool to try at least.

I will look forward to your opinions/advice.

Theres a 5mm difference in widths, but really you need the Fairing Bracket, the fairing, light set up, light relay etc etc.

Thanks for the info, 5mm isn't too bad.

I realized last night that the front light would be diferent but that's ok with me. If I can't get hold of the bracket I will just fabricate one I guess.

If I decide to go through with it I will post pictures from start to finsih off the job if anyone is interested.

The S is just an R without the lowers. Just get the top half of a 250R and Bob's your Mothers Brother...

I only just noticed that, thanks for pointing it out.

These are the parts I am looking at now -

So that's the GT250R frony assembly, and the GT mud cowling. I wonder how both of these would look together?? From what I have read the mud cowling looks a bit bulky from front on by itself, but if the bike had the front assembly as well it might look like it is supposed to be there.

Very exciting! hopefully it will look cool and unique. I think I will put some orders through later today.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe that idea is a bit overboard....

Hi! Thanks for your suggestion snowfox.. but my issue here is that i have a fabrication issue. I mean there are no points on the bike frame front to fix the front fairing stay bracket.

U can see the attached image. These bits encircled are missing on my bike frame. I guess they are not there on any non "R" model. So if someone could suggest me a way out please...
