Hi I live in Heritage Park near Browns Plains, Just joined this forum and recently bought a GV650 Sports Cruiser, I'm still on my learners and my level of riding isn't that great but that will come with time. Keen to go riding.

Im in bris not far from u near beenleigh. But The War Pony is off the road atm and even if i get it running again i'll still only have time to commute...i'd like to ride more leisure rides but family time first...also mine is only 250...how's that for a list of excuses :P on a side note i could meet u somewhere and explain ur charging system and the fix

I'm on the northside up Burpengary way.
Yeah I pretty much have the same list of excuses lol.. got some work to do on the bike before I venture out with it.. mainly just preventative maintenance ie brakes and fluids, electricals and just a general good going over for my piece of mind.

What happened to the pony?! I thought that damn thing was basically bomb proof.

Yeah i'm not sure yet? And i thought so too...i am struggling get time to work on it. It was struggling before i went on holidays...wouldn't start from ignition, cranked but wouldn't keep idle. Had to roll start it. When i got back after 10 days away it won't even roll start...i was thinking valve clearances before...but now im wondering if its coils...because now it cranks but doesn't fire. In truth i'm looking for another bike. It's time for something bigger and different...i like hyo still but i want to own other bikes too :P

Completely reasonable!

Cruiser again? ...I reckon QLD seems like the perfect place to go naked ;) Something like an MT-07, or a Triumph Street Triple, perhaps?

Mines nekkid...yeah i want another nekkid...im pretty limited for finance...under 3k so those two...while nice are a bit pricey...i've considered a couple of old k100s that i'd take the skirts off of...tried to jump on a cheap monster 400 the other day but i was too slow

I've seen a few cheap VTR1000S' circa 2001 vintage for about 2k with circa 40,000 kms. Depending in service history, those engines are good for at least as much as your 2fiddy did.
