it is a very good step forward, but, all the govt. wants is a very small amount to screw up, so, they can trash the whole plan and say....'not safe'

i'd rather leave it as a grey area, where, most of the cops just let it slide and others just give you a stern talking.

nope. no room for grey areas. either it's legal or it isn't.

the fact it's such a grey area is part of the problem.

I want to know when I do something whether it is or isn't legal. no half measures, no room for bullshit. If it's a bad thing on a monday when Cop A sees you doing it, then it's a bad thing on a friday when Cop B sees you.

filtering lets you get in front of cars when stopped at lights so you can be in a safety zone  with no cars around you when the lights change green. ive  been doing it for 30 years and dont intend to stop .

I really hope this works out! Filtering through stopped traffic to get to the front of the lights is not an uncommon thing, and in my opinion is useful for eliminating congestion.

I don't do it myself too often (simply because I ride a cruiser with wide handlebars) but I've seen a lot of people do it and see no reason why it isn't safe. The only danger I see is someone opening their door, but in order to do that they need to park their car, and there are laws against parking in the middle of the road (to my knowledge, I might be wrong).

Hope this works out! It'll mean a lot less hassle from the boys in blue :D
