Anyone ReMap a GT250R ECU ?
« on: December 15, 2012, 10:36:12 PM »

In the rules for the Hyosung Cup in Australia, there is a statment that says they have a factory ECU that helps when an aftermarket exhaust is added. Seems nobody knows about it. Why would they say that if not available ?

Power Commander(Dyno Jet) only has one for the 650. Are the plug ins the same ? I have a guy that remaps my Power Commander on my RC51 and could do the same if the 650 PC fit the 250. Any body know if the 650 and the 250 have the same plug ins ?

Thanks

Are you talking about the proddy class?

Last i heard the HyoCup wasnt going to go ahead because they couldnt afford to field a full track.

Not sure what is happening for 2013 but they are almost the only people racing Hyosungs. Just talked to Mark at Hyosung NZ and found out a 650 PC will work on a 250. They seem to be racing Hyosung somewhere down there.  Looks like I will try one on the 250 and take it to my Dyno guy and see what we can do.

From what I've looked at, the pcv for the 650 uses a single channel O2 sensor.

The 2012 models introduced 2 O2 sensors, so would you need to get a dual channel pcv sensors?

Planning to do this to my 250

Sound like it may be an expensive way to gain 2 bhp but will be interested
how it goes
;)

I too was keeping an eye on TwisteR's post on ECU/power commander upgrades but nothing came of it
maybe he has moved on from the 250?

Personally dont see the point in a power commander for a 250, the cost to do it all out weights the gains massively, you be better just trying to reduce weight off the bike to increase speed.

PCV are already mapped by the manufacturer for the bike that was bought in for testing. (650r+twobros)

I was quoted $700+ for a pcv and custom map, really shut the door on that mod

For me it's not about trying to gain hp. But when you change the muffler to a flow through and install a K&N air fiter there are some issues with it being to lean during acceleration . Those mods must go out of the parameters of the stock, EPA emissions map.
