zlock racing big bore kit
« on: March 06, 2013, 03:32:06 AM »

hey all,
bored on my deployment and was looking for something to do when i get back. so im checking out a big bore kit for the hyo.... surprise!!! no results. but i figure the sv650 would do just fine. anybody ever deal with a big bore for the hyo or anything similar. i was reading on some sv forums and i hear that the crank will bust soon after the increased power. zlock racing makes the one i was looking at. just wondering if any of you techy types had any info/insight into whether this would be a good idea or not. btw i have a 2010 FI GT650 naked. link below.

Just let him buy one and find out he's wasted his money the hard way  ??? ???

Getting kind of fed up of people STILL believing that the SV and the HYO use the same engine  >:( >:(

wow... gee guys i really appreciate that. im no maechanic. and when you hear that they are very similiar engines you hope that there are some interchangable parts, but to avoid wasting time and money you ask a question to a group of people who do alot more work on these bikes than you.

a simple no or explanation would have done just fine. im so glad im part of this community

Sorry,  we are used to people saying the hyo and sv are the same.  The gt actually has a 2cc increase over the sv. While some parts are inter changeable like throttle body tubes, cam chain tensioner, upright bars,  headlight housing (naked only).
Any internals are not going to fit.

Yeah , sorry Chief .............. kinda jumped on you for no reason  :( :(

We get new guys on here asking about changing parts on their '' brand new '' bikes ( for instance the 2013 models that have been out for only a couple of months or so and these guys want to change stuff not because it's broke or crap but because their mates tell them they should ) ............ pisses me off some times  :o :o

Like Woody said , the Hyo has a larger capacity than the SV and also has different bore and stroke , along with a different compression ratio  ;)

But if you really want more power , then there's a thread on here with a 650 that's been turbo charged or there's even NOS  ;D ;D
