GT650R Quarter Mile Time 13.02
« on: May 30, 2013, 11:25:17 PM »

Ran my bike down the quarter mile on Wednesday at eastern creek.
Best time was a 13.02 @ 102.14 MPH

Bike has an IXIL Exhaust and shorter gearing

Nice! 13 flat is a wild ride..

Anything in the 12s is considered 'quick' for a street going, commuter vehicle.

11s is  :o

All the posers who say they have a '10 second Monaro' etc etc need to relax their grip a little.

you should come race your bike at the bracket meetings
same requirements as street meet but its competition and dyo class so fastest guy doesnt really win
all the guys are pretty cool and its god fun
and some hyosung back up would be good

Noice one lsteiger86, the best i could cme up with on my hyo was a 13.06 with similar mods but for a "learner legal bike" i was a very happy boy.!!!! a respectable time.

And dbm 11's is a hard task to catch, unless you got money.:-)
Ive seen very few cars that do 11's that dont look like they have put lots of dollars into them. I think that 11's would be an awesome acheivement, im keen to give it a go one day.

mrenforcer,

I've never had the pleasure of running an 11.xx. Must be hairy keeping it pinned.

How much did that turbo setup end up costing? ..I can't imagine the plumbing was cheap, converting the pressure proofing the airbox into a plenum would have been fiddly. Plus the ECU / throttle body / extra injectors, etc. that kind of know-how doesn't come cheap.

I gotta get me to one of these Wed night meets before the wife pops, else I'll never get the chance..

trying to do an 11 aspirated will send you broke
turbo set up is cheap
dbm i do this sort of work for a living so expense to me is more time than money
but im  doing another one 650s his total is around $3700
not bad for a min 40 hp gain @ tire

Very cool, the bike mags (or one mag in the states?) have the 650R at 12.7 so 13 flat is a good run.  102 mph trap speed indicates tall gearing, so lower gearing could have you in the high 12's with ease.  Keep us posted.

Wouldn't it make sense that the higher the mph the lower the gearing as lower gearing would help a bike accelerate faster which would provide a bike with a faster trap speed considering it is only 400 metres any bike would not be able to reach its top speed in this short distance? I have standard gearing in mine and it was doing 98 - 99 mph trap speed all night so taller gearing less mph in my case.
