HYOSUNG IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
« on: August 14, 2014, 01:11:55 PM »

Hey Hyo,

Is there any likelihood of Hyosung returning to the United Kingdom?

Hyosung Motorcycles have not made huge inroads in the UK, and EP Barrus stopped acting as their importer last year, but with a new importer, new models starting to appear and the increasing range of bikes being sold which are not from the Japanese 'big 4', surely there is still a market for Hyosung here?

There are increasing numbers of Chinese bikes on the road, with a number receiving much better acceptance in the press, so perhaps that British/Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha/Kawasaki bias is weakening.....come back Hyosung!

Hyosung do not sell direct into any country. They set up import and distribution rights with 3rd party companies.
Anyone with the capital and drive could take over where Barrus left off.

If that was a suggestion.... sorry, I have neither the capital nor the drive!!  Royal Enfield found a new importer a year or two ago, with a much more niche market product, I wonder if anyone is looking at Hyosung....

Hope so.

Someone is importing in the UK again.
Currently a small unnamed group, but proof is that my friend took delivery of a brand new 2014 GT125R from a dealer, so it is happening.
Im hoping to find more out about this soon.

That would be good news - besides improving the availability of new bikes, parts and servicing, it wouldn't do any harm to the value of our current bikes!!

I've heard other rumours of someone importing Hyo's, so there may be something in the air...... I hope they bring in that new 250 that's pictured in other posts.  Very cool.

Most models are still listed in the new issue of What Bike Magazine too - decent write ups too, although they seem to like everything in their summary pages!  Unlike Bike Magazine, who can be very cutting......

As mentioned in other posts, it looks like Hyosung could be available in the UK again, HQB are listing Hyosung on their Quantum website, and show all 125 models at the moment.

See http://www.quantumquads.co.uk/quantum-quads-brands/11/hyosung

Hopefully this will build to cover the full range, and that a decent dealership can be developed.

It's likely that Hyosung will be at the very least available in small numbers, with a 1 year parts and service warranty. Can't say much more at this point.
