GT250R Chain Guard
« on: January 05, 2007, 12:49:49 AM »

Hi everyone,

I've just been looking for a chain guard to replace the standard plastic one that comes with the bike, and the only place I can find is a place in Germany.

The only problem is it costs 3x as much for frieght as it does for the guard .... just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere local (Australia) who does something similar to :-

And a quick hello to everyone here at Korider ... being new to the Hyosung bikes (I have a Yellow GT250R) this forum has been great to read and pick things up on.

Thanks

Way not just make new one out of plastic - aluminum - steel or what ever?

it is flat with one 90' bend, I have made them out of angle/flat aluminum that work great,  stop/construction signs work great:-)

Agree with Mike.  The hardest bit would be the hole cutting in the middle with any custom design you think of.

Welcome to Korider!  Sweet place to pick up ideas.

Yeah that and I'm not overly talented at the whole metal fabrication thing ... and I do like the cut in designs as such.

I'll keep looking ... you never know I might win on the horses and fork out the cash  :P

Thanks for all the help

Found a friend who wanted one of these too, if you order in bulk the postage stays the same so they become affordable, so order we did

Will post some pics if anyone is interested once it arrives and I get it on the bike?

Get a hugger?
« Reply #8 on: March 03, 2007, 06:38:50 AM »

Hi there.
I'm on a site in NZ where one of the members displayed a picture of a chain guard and hugger unit he's got on his GT250R

EDIT: I just noticed he's posted pictures under a hugger thread in the "Hey Hyo" forum..check that out

He pointed me in the direction of http://www.austreetfighter.com.au/ but I can't see the item on the site.
Maybe one of the Aussies amongst you can track it down
