2016 - only 3 models in Australia?
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:45:59 PM »

Unbelievable! Only the GTR650 and two GV650s (Classic  and sports) this year according to the Australian Hyo website, and local dealers! What's happening?

This was supposed to be the 2016 GTR to be released around April-June, but there's nothing about it since EICMA last year.

You think they're going belly up upside down? Or you mean that dealers will disappear in Australia?

Here in the UK, Hyosung import these bikes -

GV125, GV250, GV650P and ST7
GT125R, GT125P (naked), GT650P (naked), GT650RC (but not the new design yet)
GD250N (new single), GT250R
RT125D

My local dealer concentrates on smaller bikes (mostly Chinese), but has GV125C, GT125R, GD250N and GV650P in stock..... He did have an RT in too, but that seems to be sold.

However, VERY little promotion of the brand is being done here, and I have hardly ever seen another one on the road in my 3 years of ownership...

I often think their days could be numbered! :(

At least in the US, my "local" dealer, about 60 miles away, has nearly the same lineup mentioned in the post referring to UK availability. The new GTR wasn't there.
Yes, and if you are not moving ahead you are falling behind.

Not only poor little Hyo is taking a hit, but all dealers.

As of March 2016. The government would like 3 times less riders obtaining their licence and their own bike. Sales are dropping!!
I just recently had in August our Bendigo Triumph, Suzuki, KTM dealership close down. The only bikes we have left here are the Hyo Dealer(which I don't know how much longer it will be open two brothers own it and it's the family business and I'm sure they're both 70), Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Husqavana (who the hell buys those) Honda.

Yes still only 3 models .... but don't bother using the Aussie website ( http://www.hyosung.com.au/ ) it says West Australia has 3 dealers ... Dale Britton was the top seller in the country at one stage, but now they don't want to know Hyos (they will charge you $100 to scan your EFI, and hand you the codes - but they won't fix it, or say how to fix it). So the nearest dealers are now 70km or 200km away from the states capital city.

I wonder if Hyosung are dealing with our new 2017 Euro 4 regulations (abs and improved emmisions amongst other things) or if they will give up on the UK market.....can't find any information. :-\
