white smoke coming from exhaust gt125r
« on: February 28, 2017, 09:31:02 PM »

hi just fitted another engine to my gt125r it starts and seems to idle fine, but once warm it has what seems like white smoke coming from exhaust . so i held a white piece of kitchen towel over the end and it became damp. any ideas or is it just condensation thanks.

Sounds like condensation. Take it out for a good blast, at least 15-20 minutes. If no white smoke, then you're all fine. If not then there's a chance that you might be burning something else, but I highly doubt it as these engines don't have any coolant and oil burns blue. Obviously make sure your oil lines are hooked up properly.
Colder weather, more obvious condensation on startup and warmup.

Is your choke mechanism definitely disengaging on the rear cylinder carb unit?

Visible on the left side of the bike.
