Good to know that you're making progress!
With regard to the stutter, three suggestions: Fuel, spark and air.
Carby cleaner - Caltex Techron 5000, half a bottle, twice.
Check the plug leads and end caps. You are looking for: Cracks, splits, chips, dents, missing chunks, melted bits, dead animals, living animals, frayed sections, loose connections at either end, brown marks, white marks, pink with purple polka-dotted marks, etc you get the idea.
Check rubber bits that connect to the inlet side. Inlet manifolds are made of particularly, spectacularly shit rubber. The vacuum hoses are also prone to sometimes working, but mostly not. Again: cracks, splits, chips, dents, missing chunks, melted bits, dead animals, living animals, cuts, loose connections where the rubber has stretched beyond serviceable level at either end, brown marks, white marks, pink with purple polka-dotted marks, etc you get the idea. Take your time and be thorough.
