It does make a difference!
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:05:18 PM »

First bike ive ever owned, 2010 GV250 Aquila and I love it. Ran great wben i bought it but wanted to do my own service on it to start from fresh.
Changed front and rear brakes, air filter, oil and oil filter, 2 new plugs and front and rear Bridgestones, and it runs like a sewing machine, it really does make a difference, especially the plugs, old ones were gapped to half recommended, still has stutter at 3 grand but ill raise new post for that.

Good to know that you're making progress!

With regard to the stutter, three suggestions: Fuel, spark and air.

Carby cleaner - Caltex Techron 5000, half a bottle, twice.

Check the plug leads and end caps. You are looking for: Cracks, splits, chips, dents, missing chunks, melted bits, dead animals, living animals, frayed sections, loose connections at either end, brown marks, white marks, pink with purple polka-dotted marks, etc you get the idea.

Check rubber bits that connect to the inlet side. Inlet manifolds are made of particularly, spectacularly shit rubber. The vacuum hoses are also prone to sometimes working, but mostly not. Again: cracks, splits, chips, dents, missing chunks, melted bits, dead animals, living animals, cuts, loose connections where the rubber has stretched beyond serviceable level at either end, brown marks, white marks, pink with purple polka-dotted marks, etc you get the idea. Take your time and be thorough.

I presume that by "sewing machine" you think that means good?

Personally, I like my motorcycles to run like motorcycles.

And chuck in some fuel treatment into a tankful of new 91RON go juice at twice the rate recommended on the bottle for cars.
Injector cleaner works the same on carburettors.
