Weird surging.
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:10:57 PM »

Ok its 2010 Gv250 efi. On the stand, in neutral, warmed up thoroughly,  if i twist the throttle until i get to approx 3k rpm and hold it steady it surges and revs go up to about 4k then down to 3k then surges to 4k, it does it continually as if im revving it but i assure you im not.
What do you guys suspect, tps, efi module, any help appreciated.

Too little information provided. Two things to pre-test.
Charge you battery overnight using an external charger and test again.
Fill tank with NEW 91RON fuel. Do not use higher or lower octane fuel, only 91. Put some injector cleaner in the full tank of new fuel.
The EFI system is a closed loop feedback via the EGO sensor which will try to correct mixtures based on the exhaust gases.
Go for a good ride and test again.

Thanks for reply, only use 91Ron, battery is trickle charged every night, have run cleaner through it twice, plugs are new, air filter is new, tried 95 Ron and it ran like a camel.

EFI shouldn't surge unless you have an electrical issue. Either a bad sensor/switch somewhere or battery/charging.
Side stand switches are notorious for going bad at certain revs because of the vibrations.
Remove, disassemble and clean the internals of the side stand switch. Under that black gunk on the back is a small board held in place with screws. Take photos as you disassemble for reassembly. Spray degreaser inside, hose out and then electrical lube. Replace black gunk with silicone sealant. Carefully bend arm on side stand to make the switch plunger press in further.
