No spark on sparkplugs???
« on: April 04, 2017, 05:10:27 PM »

Hi! I have a Hyosung GT250R EFI 2014 model and I can not get it to start. There is no sparks on both spark plugs and the spark plugs appear to not be defective, spark caps looks good and everything else looks good but can not start it. The entire electrical grid has been removed when it was in the workshop but is now reconnected. It was after this i was unable to start the bike. Anybody that can help? Has anyone had the same problems?

On the left side of the bike, next to the battery box there are two pairs of connectors that are exactly the same shape.

One is for the spark signal and the other is to charge the battery. If you mix them up, you will get no spark.

Look for two pairs of connectors, one with have a pair of wires, one brown and the other black with a white trace line the other connector will have a blue and a green wire.

Make sure that the colours match on both sides of those connectors.

Do you have a picture of these connectors?

From the engine side cover will be two sets of wires.

A set of 3 wires, AC output from the stator going to the Regulator Rectifier (RR) input for DC battery charging, and,

A set of 2 wires that are from a small pickup coil that is used for timing by the ECU to dump power to the coils.

Often by mistake the pickup coil is plugged into the RR output.

Those are indeed the wires and I can see that they are mixed up.

In the picture where you are holding the reg/rec in your hand, see how the two pin connectors have different colours at each side.

You need to find the matching wire pairs.

The second link looks like the tip over sensor with the oxygen sensor going out at al angle. I am not 100% sure, but I think the tip over sensor is upside down.

In the third picture, the empty connector on the right looks like it might be your spark signal connector.
