What would you have done?
« on: April 11, 2017, 02:44:56 AM »

So I finally got my baby back from the mechanic. (Runs better than I could have dreamed by the way).

Engine was flooded and some parts in the carbs needed replacing as she was sitting since '07 without running when I bought her.
While the carbs were already pulled apart I gave them my Dynojet kit and Screaming Demon shorty I had planned to install, as it'd only cost me a few extra bucks.

I get a call the day they're putting it back together saying "So we just noticed you have some restricted slides in there. Sometimes they come with them, sometimes they don't. They have a hole in them which doesn't allow them to open properly and explains why you were having pretty sluggish performance before. I had some matching carbs under my desk without the holes so I'm gonna put those in for you. Just thought I'd give you a heads up because with these slides that jet kit and exhaust aren't going to give you any performance benefit at all."

So I'm currently two months into my Provisional license, so have the 150kW per tonne power/weight ratio restriction.  Essentially I played dumb and went "ooooohhh wow, no wonder it ran a bit poorly" (Turns out the 'P' plate had fallen off before I dropped the bike off)

I now have a bike that goes WAAAAAAY faster than the CB125E I've been putting around on.
Would you guys have done the same? Or would you have said "No I'm actually a restricted rider, please don't make my bike 2x faster" ? :P

This also serves as a HEY I GOT MY GORGEOUS NOW SUPER FAST YELLOW BABY BACK!!! WOOO :D

I'd put the P plate back on and just take it easy till you're times up.

Haha yes I'm definitely going to take it easy for a while.

Also, I don't know why people bother blocking off the AIS, these pops and crackles on decel sound F*ing beastly!!
I haven't taken the baffle out yet, so maybe when they are that much louder they could be less than ideal, but at the moment I love em!
