HYOSUNG letters on gas tank
« on: April 24, 2017, 01:39:41 PM »

Just curious if anyone knows how to remove letters from gas tank, and if they leave "ghost lettering" once removed.

Was thinking of going the hair drier route, but maybe someone can give me a better alternative ;D..

For the raised letters, the chrome ones, (GV650, GV250) the hair dryer works for me.  Leftover adhesive can be removed with Goo Gone or plain WD40.  The flat letters (as on the GT650/R/S and GT250/R are usually under the clear coat.  Never tried on those.

Stickers on my comet came off easy. The ones on the back fairings were under the clear coat so had to sand back and respray

Got a feeling the sticker on the 650 GT would be hard to remove without damaging the paintwork . I gave it a quick look and it does not look easy but I could be wrong and I hope I am . Would look sweet without the Hyosung sticker . Not that I am a snob but my bike would look so much better with everything pure black.
