Bike dies when i put in gear
« on: July 27, 2017, 02:40:53 PM »

So i fixed my previous problem with the bike, Now its up and running. The bike starts and revs up just fine. When i put it in to gear, the bike engine dies right away,

IT IS NOT THE KICK STAND SENSOR.

Any ideas on what it could be ?

It will be your side stand sensor just unplug it and it should fix your problem unless there is a problem somewhere in your condition then you have to follow the cable and check if they don't tuck somewhere

How are you so sure that it's not the side stand sensor, when it so perfectly matches the symptoms?

Have you bypassed the sensor? Unfortunately not's not simply a matter of unplugging it, you do have to bridge the two wires (join them together).

********ok thats enough sarcasm*********
******its deffo the side stand switch*******

Ive had one bitch of a day (actually two days) diagnosing and fixing a sick DL1000 (electrical gremlins)
Interestingly it runs the Mitsubishi ECU like my GT650 :)
Wonder if a 1000cc upgrade / transplant could be accomplished...

work backwards then.....
sidestand switch relay
diode pack

there is NOTHING else that would cause this. it is sidestand switch related :P (unless your electrics are a complete utter mess and all chewed up)

I don't know what my hyo kick stand sensor connections look like but my old bike had a positive and a negative coming out of it.. did you mix those up? No current flow could potentially read as kick stand down....?
