what years is your bike?
Isn't there a relay for that on the FI Bikes??
If it isn't an Fi bike, then id suggest the KICK STAND SENSOR!
please post video of you choking the monitor or throwing your phone at the wall.

also check the connection at the harness.

work backwards then.....
sidestand switch relay
diode pack

there is NOTHING else that would cause this. it is sidestand switch related :P (unless your electrics are a complete utter mess and all chewed up)

Hey mate, got the same problem, kickstand is bridged out and removed.
I'm thinking inhibitor switch (neutral light etc) as it runs fine then cuts when you drop it into gear.
Then happens intermittantly while riding.
Had it as I as passed a truck today, potentially very dangerous (which is why the kick stand switch is off).
Checked the voltage regulator just in case too, seems fine.
Will follow this and see how you go.

READ THIS:

problem cause
-side stant swith   <-ok (but a jumper is good also)
-CDI/TCI (ignition circuit) or ECU (FI models)
-main wires damaged

*Embarrased*
So.. after checking everything else, my problem was the kick stand switch wire.
I had ripped it off and twisted the wires together in anger after the first episode and after 12 months of being parked in the weather every day, corrosion had built up in the joint between the wires.
Snipped, soldered and a bit of heatshrink later, and we're back in action.
So... even if its been done, check it again. Perhaps with a multimeter.
Cheers guys.
