Hey Hyosung How about you back to the drawing board
« on: August 04, 2017, 07:48:49 AM »

Nothing but problems, my 2008 GT650 handled like a shopping trolley and this 2012 model is better in handling but they both have had electrical issues step up your game as this is the last one for me.

Always liked the handling of my GT650, but the 2 (fairly minor) problems I had were electrical too. One left me stranded and the bike had to be recovered, which was a bummer!!  Loved that bike though....... ;)

Yeah, the electricals are a huge disappointment.

You know...

From a corporate point of view I've never understood the thinking / attitude of some manufacturers.
How do they expect to build up a loyal customer base when showing zero customer commitment.

An example is the charging issues. There is no way that Hyo cannot be aware of this, but they do nothing. Bear in mind they manufacture / purchase components in large quantities, so how much would it REALLY cost them to make improvements. They KNOW the stator and rectifier are weak points and that some parts of the wiring are borderline in size - but they leave it?

They MUST lose sales over this due to people seeing these issues on the web, or the products being slated by word of mouth, so why not fix them?
Why would a company be seemingly happy with their products being slated, when it's in effect and easy fix?
It's a shame really, as many of their bikes are quite nice and a reasonable step up from some of the current Chinese offerings.

24k KM on my GTR and so far so good in that department. Well, almost, my mechanic said the connectors were starting to give out so he just cancelled them for me. Didn't mind at all obviously.

In reading all the above and other posts about issues. Has anyone wrote to / contacted Hyo and got their take on it, or a reply?

I say this, as although I like mine and the ST7 for example - I'd be very wary of buying one new!

they're cheap  ;D
If you are worried about your electrical connectors , give them a spray with CRC 2.26 .
