GV/GT 125 carb alignment
« on: August 17, 2017, 09:58:15 AM »

Well finally after 3years I have managed to get the Aquilla running. It looks like the issue is due to the way the cable connects to the carbs. when the cable is connected around the arm on the carb and into the slot, the butterflies are half way open not closed!

Is this to do with the cable, or has the bracket been put  on wrong? I did remove it all to clean and free everything, but it was revving before. Also how dose the spring go back on? I had to put back on without spring as it was jamming the rotation of the butterflies.

something to look for. There are 2 slots to put the cable end in on the throttle. you could have it in  the wrong one and it may cause a short cable situation.
look to see if the band clamps are in the way to where the throttle can't retract all the way

I'd check this one first.

there are 2 slots on the throttle cable... you may have put it in the wrong hole. If I'm correct there is only one throttle cable on that bike right?

One cable to the front of the carb (fork side) with the cable cam, and a spring behind it, I also seem to remember a spring in the middle of the two carbs too, but incant remember for sure, will check.

Perhaps you switched the choke and throttle cable.
choke cable: metal part is straight
throttle cable at the carb:  is curved.

Just a thought.

Your throttle tube right up on the handle bar has two different positions for the knub thing on the end of the cable to be held in by. If you take the right-hand switchgear box open, you'll see what I mean, although if I've got more time later today I'll get a picture up.

Use the other bit on the throttle tube, put the spring back on the carbs
