Oil filter compatability
« on: September 25, 2017, 09:05:24 PM »

Walmart sells this oil filter:
volar OF-131-ae-6
And it is listed as fitting the gt250. I was wondering if the filter is the same for both engines? Has anyone tried this? Because the only other way for me to get the "proper" filter is online, and to be honest I don't want to wait.

Most bike shops will stock the hiflofiltro range. HF681 is the magic number.

Yes. HF681 is the correct size.

From experience with these filters though, they tend to be hard on the smaller of the two rubber o-rings. I've never had one break with the stock filter, but with the hiflofiltro, they only last one change. If I push for a second, the o-ring will be missing when I go to replace the filter.
