Magneto Rotor Pulling Tool - Thread Dimension 30mm ?
« on: September 28, 2017, 02:04:04 PM »

Hi, I am in the middle of stripping down a 2010 GT125.

I need to remove the rotor, I havnt bought the special tool yet as the only one ive seen is on ebay for 38 which I thought was a bit steep and I really need one today or tomorrow.

I measured the thread with an old caliper I have and it showed approx 30mm

Does anyone know the if the size required is 30 x 1.5 RH

A company locally to me stocks this size at 12.99 and they are in stock for a quick pickup, really missing having my sidekick on the road.

Thanks so much to anyone who can help me with this :)

I don't have a 125, mine is the 650.

30mm sounds far too large. Are you sure you are measuring the hole inside the magneto rotor?? There's no way it's 30mm.

The method to get the magneto rotor off is to screw a bolt into the hole on the front face of the magneto. it pushes against the crank behind the magneto and then hey presto, the magneto pops off. On the 650, that's an M20x1.25 normal threaded bolt. I suggest that you get eyes on it again.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply :)

The 30mm measurement is the big thread just inside the rotor, where the big bolt screws onto with the rotor remover tool.

I measured the inside hole on the crank arm and it is around 4mm but has no thread so assumed it was the diamond end shape which pushed there.

like on this one : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYOSUNG-GT125-SINNIS-APACHE-SUPERBYKE-RMR-FLYWHEEL-ROTOR-PULLER-EXTRACTOR-TOOL-/301959167836?hash=item464e2b3f5c:g:ZzUAAOSwrklVJoL6

Thanks again for your help, really appreciated :)

Hi Cyberboy,

I have found out that the tool needed is a M30 1.5 Puller, they are charging 38 on ebay but dont give the dimensions of it, I managed to find out from a friend the size needed.

I ordered one from a local bike store (JTs in Swansea) for 8.50, they are awesome and post out too if you wanted to order one, im off up to collect mine today. They order it next day to store.

Hope this helps :)
