Tips for rebuilding carbs?
« on: October 07, 2017, 11:39:19 PM »

I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do already, but I was wondering if anyone had some tips on any more difficult processes or certain springs that might shoot out? Also, all I really need to do is get a float unstuck, so what would that process look like? Just unbolt the cover on the bowl then use carb cleaner to clean out the pivot and work the float back and forth? is there anything else I should look for while I'm cleaning out the bowl? One more thing and the first thing I should have mentioned, what do I need to do to get the choke cable off of the carb? The rear carbs looks like someone JB Welded around the cable, so hopefully I can just take the cable off the handlebar?
Thanks,
Mark.

I figured there were, but I'm lazy haha. And I know from experience how delicate carbs are, so definitely gonna use the proper screwdrivers.

A nice long Phillips screw driver comes in handy for removing the clamps on the boots. Make sure to have the gaskets for the bolws, they may not be good once u crack them open.

I should clarify my statement a little more. I'm talking the screwdriver tip.
