Six Volt Flash Relay
« on: November 12, 2017, 03:40:59 PM »

So I have this Honda Benelux Camino, and the electrics are 6v.

It's got all-round LED indicators (or turn signals if you're American) but they don't flash (or blink if you're American)

6v flash relays don't exist any more, of course, so I have to go for a 12v one.

Can anyone who knows electrics better than I do, tell me what resistors or converters or whatever that I would need, so that a 12v flash relay will work with 6v LEDs, please?

Hey Cloud,

Now you're speaking my language!

Well, you could do it with an LM2577 logic gate, a piece of breadboard, some resistors, a diode, a variety of hammers and a gun, using this circuit diagram.

...or you could buy one on eBay for a fiver.

They sure do. As a restorer of a classic Suzuki A50P I can assure you they do since they also have a 6v system.

What the ****

I've been looking for one for weeks and even my local bike store says they haven't had any for years.

I look again today and there's bloody hundreds.
