How Much Fun is a Karion?
« on: December 07, 2017, 03:31:59 PM »

My GTR is still in bits utterly ruthless through traffic, and damn near untouchable in the urban environment. While I have a lot of fun on it, I've been wanting something that is less powerful, better on fuel, and simultaneously good in the winter yet a frigging hoot to ride. I did have the Honda Benelux Camino to hit three of those points (less power, fuel econ, fine in winter) but top speed is 24mph and I'll never be able to ride it like a complete fxxkin moron.

The Karion is expensive here. Like two grand of expensive. I'm aware of the cheaper VanVan but if I got one I'd always feel like I got second best. I like the Karion more. It's more quirky and cheeky, it's got better brakes, and it's also got twin-cam potential to stick it above the VanVan in terms of zzzzzing!

But is it any good? I'm not expecting a stunt bike, but I'd like it to be a little bit silly.

I can road-legal my Camino for under 300. Is the Karion really worth the extra 1500 - 1700 just for fun factor?

How much is a used Grom?

That was going to be my suggestion. Even so, I dont know why anyone would pay over 1000 to stay in the 125 class.

There is a Chinese brand that has gotten really good reviews in the states.
SSR (Razkull)  Icebear.  IDK what they would be called there  but they can be found used here for 700-800 from time to time.

Great tip!
They also do a V-twin called the Buccaneer which has a Virago engine. Interesting.

What is it?!

The front brake looks capable. Big diameter front wheel as well. Single cylinder with what looks like a substantial sleeve. Looks quite promising.

A special blend of Chinese parts. It's called a Hongda... something with numbers. Engine is a copy of a CG125.

Ideal winter bike.

I kinda like that.
Can't find one anywhere though??

I've been looking at the karion as well, as a second bike.
