hyosung gv650 aquila gearbox issue
« on: December 29, 2017, 10:44:05 AM »

Hey guys, a little advise please. I have a hyosung 2011 gv650 aquila with 25000kms on her. Pulling away up a steep hill from stand still with pillion, got to 7km and it just stopped pulling like I had selected neutral. Pulled over and it doesn't matter what gear I select there is no drive. The further up the gears I go the louder the gearbox gets (rattle noise). Clutch feels as it should and with the clutch pulled in there is no noise. Is this a common issue. Done a search and can't find anything?

Check your output shaft and front pulley. See if the pulley has been destroyed.

No, take off left rear side cover where drive belt goes.
Download service and parts manuals and things will be much clearer for you.

Ok, so the pulley and shaft are destroyed. Is it engine out and split to replace output shaft?

Only if it actually damaged the shaft.

The pulley is quite soft. What’s the condition of the splines on the output shaft?

Damn pity.

I was hoping it was just going to be the pulley.

Pity!
