If I EVER saw anyone using one of those in work , they would be hung , drawn and quartered  >:(

I agree, but they have their uses and in this instance it is ideal as a temporary measure to test if the SSS is the problem by making an easily removable bypass.

One other thing has occurred to me - I had a breakdown on the Hyo, when I totally lost power, and it turned out to be the connector on the back of the main fuse.  Not the fuse on the front, but the connector on the back - it had worked loose.

Might be worth checking, in case that is starting on yours and causing the occasional cut-out.

Thanks for all the help & advise guys.. I'll definitely be on the lookout for that connector any one got any ideas what gauge wire is used?  Just having a look it looks like it's either 12 or 14 awg
