I want to strangle the person that designed the fairings
« on: March 11, 2018, 12:29:27 PM »

Just put the 650gtr back together and it was an epic bolting the fairings up .
Fitting the new LED indicators was also an epic .
That thing is never , ever coming apart again . :o
The shorty levers I fitted also whack the display fascia on full lock which could be very interesting , not .
I will have to sort that out . Not a good idea to have the front brake operating on full lock  :o
Lowered the back a couple of inches and thought , I'll lower the front too . Bad idea because I now have about 4 inches clearance so the front will have to go back to standard and just leave the back lowered.
I now realize why my GT is my favorite .

Sorted the levers out .
Put the original monstrosities back on .
Obviously nobody makes shorty levers that will not get impeded by that stupid fairing they put on the thing .

How is it that the levers foul?

pic?

The levers on the turbo bike didn't seem to even come close, mind though, they're not shorties.

I have taken a pic with the original monstrosities and can't be arsed fitting the other ones that WOULD kill me if I fitted them . Spent far too much time already fooking around with this .
You can see there is not much clearance between lever and fairing and the shorties have the extra "width" of the adjuster which hits the fascia .

Ahh I see. The forks being lower has moved them out of the notch in the fairings

I may see if I can get a small car jack under the thing without taking too many of the fairings off .
I can then put the forks back up and then see if the shorty fits .
Can't decide if I want lower forks or shorty levers  . Much prefer the shorties to the originals :)

Just put the forks back to standard and the shorty still just touches the black cover over the display .
Too risky to use those so it's staying standard height with old levers which is a shame . I prefer the shorty levers but there you go .
