LOL yeah, our forklifts are electric, 36v DC to 480v AC inverter/controllers. Torque monsters though, a few weeks ago a forklift had a ball bearing drop from the top to the gear box. It stripped all the teeth from the ring gear, and blew up a hardened case. Motor was fine though. 450 amp fuses on everything lol.  ;)

I would love to do an e-bike. Not a chintzy one though. I'm talking a 50kw motor. ..the batteries cost a bomb though

eh.. just doing the math with our RR 5700 forklifts motors they make 4.8 kw. The lift motors make 20kw though,   They weigh about 5 tons and are about 30ft tall fully extended.

This is the setup I am half drooling over.

20kw rated, but have a 50kw peak. 40kgs in weight.

https://www.goldenmotor.com/eMotorcycle/frame-emotor.htm

The motor itself is about AU$2500 australian pesos, but then you also need a motor controller which is about AU$1500, assosciated nonsense about a grand. ...but then the kick in the nuts, the batteries. Close to $10,000 in batteries is needed to get a quite short range and very slow charging.

Then you need a frame to put it all in and extremely high end wiring. I'm talking 560 amps at 96V!

Eh seems like a pain in the ass. We have hydrogen fuel cells in our facility.. The batterie packs are humongous. Weigh a couple of tonnes by them selves.
