Will it fit: Pirelli Angel GT 120/70 in GT650-Naked 2012
« on: June 06, 2018, 08:45:50 AM »

Hi Guys,

I have a 2012 Hyosung GT650 naked. I need to replace tyres.

For some reason, there is no supplier in country with OEM 120/60 R17 size in stock. But they all have 120/70 R17 size available in Pirelli Angel GT.

If anyone has right info, please guide, if Pirelli Angel GT 120/70 can readily fit my motorcycle's front. I wish to avoid return process, that's too expensive.

Thanks

May hit the front mudguard fender . There is not much clearance on my bike .
It may give you a speedo error too .
Think it will raise ride height by 1/2 inch .
If you do fit it , I would be interested to know how you get on .
I am looking at changing my tires to Pirelli Diablo Rosso II Tires .
Got a quote for $400 fitted and balanced .

They fit and in fact the speedo ends up more accurate.

As for the ride height, I'll take spitty's word on it, I never measured it. If it bothers you, drop the forks in the triple clamps until just before they touch the handlebars. That should be about half an inch there.

120/70 rubber is much cheaper and you can get some really good rubber in that size too. All the trick crotch rocket supersports bikes use that size so the top manufacturers target their best products to that market.

Upside.
Can you fit bigger tyres on the rear too ?

Technically a 180/55 will fit, but due to the narrow rim, you make the curve of the tyre really sharp. I've not done it, but I imagine it would feel twitchy as you lean with a wierd rearward weight transfer.
