250 EFI swap question.
« on: June 15, 2018, 01:56:16 PM »

Hello.

My plan is to turn a GTR 125 EFI into a GTR 250 EFI. On the carburetor models, you just have to adjust jets like those in the 250. However, what should you do for injection models? Change the injectors? the ECU?

I can not find any information on the subject.

Thank you.  ;)

I don't think that there is a 125 EFI. To my knowlege, all the 125cc models are carb.

Eh? Nah. It's not a bot spitty.

It's actually a legit good idea.

In the UK learners are limited to 125ccs. The Hyo 125cc is the exact same block as the 250cc. The engines are 100% swappable, with the exception of the oil cooler being smaller on the 125s.

He's right though, if it is indeed a 125cc EFI bike, then the fuelling will be out if you use a 125cc ECU on a 250cc engine. Like I said though, to my knowledge, all the 125s are carb. I don't own one though and I don't claim to be all that knowledgeable on what was imported to the UK. I base my statement on a comment made by Cloud, ages ago on the exact same topic and she IS extremely knowledgeable on what was imported to the UK market.
