Gas smell
« on: July 17, 2018, 08:23:53 PM »

Hi forum,

I've had this issue with gas smelling for 3 weeks now.

If I rev the bike whilst stationary or even if I let it idle I can feel the smell of gas throughout the exhaust pipe.

Also, last week my bike suddenly lost power between 5.5-6k revs. It is not happening now (maybe it was the gas itself). I've got no FI lights so far.

The spark plugs are new. The air filter will be changed this weekend.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks!

As an update, today i started the bike and left after 10 seconds as it started to rain heavily.

I revved it to 6k RPM into the first gear and when I wanted to change to second (so I let go the gas) I had a pretty loud back-pop.

It is surely that the bike is supra-alimented.

I will change the air filter this weekend as I think the ECU is compensating with gas for the lack of air.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
