Battery
« on: September 06, 2018, 12:00:22 AM »

Anybody replaced their battery on a 650 recently ?
Need a cheapo battery for the bike . It doesn't deserve an expensive one  ::)
It's no biggie , just have to put it on charge every 2 weeks when I fly back home to ride the thing  :o .

How cheap is cheap?

I have been using my lithium battery for 6 years now. How many 'cheap' batteries would you have replaced in that time?

I'd strongly recommend a lithium battery. It's one of the few parts you can take with you if you decide to change bikes later.

That's the exact model I use in all my bikes.

I wanna see the look on your face when you first pick it up out of the box and shit yourself 'cause you think they sent you an empty plastic shell. ;)

The number is academic. It still feels like an empty plastic shell! Honestly it looks like it should weigh about as much as a bottle of soda and probably does, but it feels like it weighs as much as a packet of cigarettes.

Its like a trick of the mind I suppose from having picked up so many batteries, you become accustomed to what you think it should weigh.

I was so dubious when I first fit mine that I was gobsmacked when my bike actually cranked!

Its the same width and length as the normal battery, but shallower. It comes with spacers should you choose to use them.
