GT650r cuts out
« on: September 25, 2018, 03:58:46 PM »

I have some problems whit my GT650r form 2009. It cuts out in idle and at low RPM.
I am trying to find out what is wrong, but i havent found the cause.

But i have taken out the fuel pump, and the small mesh filter on the pump looks to be all filed up whit something.
Does anyone know if and where i can get a new filter? Or do i have to by a new fuel pump?

What else should i look at to fix my bike?

This is going to sound ridiculous, but here goes. Soak the whole pump, mesh and all, in white vinegar for a few minutes, then wash it again with petrol and re-fit it.

With that said, it's not your fuel pump that is causing your issues. It's your kick stand switch and/or your ignition coils.

Also, check the ignition lead end caps for cracks. ...and you did eliminate the basics first, right? ..like spark plugs? Try NGK CR8EK's. They're hard to find, but give a better spark. Often used in older Mazda Rotary engines.
