GT250R 'N' light not lit up and Bike not starting
« on: November 26, 2018, 04:24:56 AM »

Hey guys,
I have an issue with my Hyosung GT250R (2007) model, hoping you guys can throw me some options here. So basically, when I turn on the ignition, the 'N' light does not lit up. I remember this used to be an issue sometime back, but as soon as it starts running regularly and sometimes long riders, it stays lit or doesn't have this issue. I haven't touched my bike in 4 months, but recently took out the battery (which is only 3 years old) and charged it for a couple of hours, at which point the 'N' light did lit up. I was able to start the bike in neutral, but when I shifted to first gear, the bike died - almost as if one of the kill switches were on - which was not. Not sure if there's any fault with any of the switches.

Maybe the battery isn't fully charged at the moment to lit up the 'N' light even though the indicators, horn, and lights are working fine. Or maybe cleaning the side stand switch would be a good way to go (definitely not wanting to bypass it).

Any suggestions, comments are much appreciated. Also, if there's any good post or videos on how to clean the switch by yourself, it would be great if anyone can share any links. I am a bit broke atm to take my bike to the workshop - basically tryna see if I can sort this out myself.

Thanks,
manu

Hey man,
thanks for the reply, I read in many other forums and posts that it could be 1 of 4 switches, but most importantly to check the neutral sensors - maybe just give a quick wipe. But am not entirely sure where exactly this is located. Can anyone help with any sort of guides / videos on this? I could not find anything on the internet myself.

Thanks for your time.

It is just to the side of the small sprocket.
Remove the cover (just follow the end of the chain to see which one) and it will have 2 wires in sleeving coming out of it .
Don't loose the O ring .
Not the big round cover ,the one next to it .the cover closest to the rear wheel on chain side .
You'll need an 8mm socket .
