Underglow lighting on my GT650
« on: January 02, 2019, 05:34:38 PM »

Just got this kit for Christmas. At this time of year, I am riding home after dark. Install was easy, and it looks great! I put the on/off under the passenger seat, though I intend to find a permanent home for it

Nice!

It'd certainly be noticed by drivers in the dark.. You'll look like a UFO!

Be sure to route the wires away from any direct heat surfaces! I have had one of my rear wheel well cables conduit melt exposing the wires. I also had problems with this making my bike turn off which I just fitted another mini battery under the seat with a Velcro strap

Definitely the idea. I've been doing a lot of dark time/ rainy day riding lately. Feels like it has rained for months straight here in NC. Anything I can do to catch a drivers attention is a good thing

I used a wire with a heat resistant coating. As much as possible, I also tried to go along existing wire runs. Sounds like yours was shorted somewhere.

Got some bar end mirrors for my birthday on the 8th. Took another picture of the bike. Even during the day, the underglow seems to help with visibility. The V Twin looks like a nuclear reactor.
