what is a clucth swicth as when i had my bike severviced they said it was falty so they are geting me a new one on warrnty, they said it dont make a differnce when riding the bike tho so why change it?

It allows the starter to work when the clutch is pulled in. No switch no start!

Thats kinda like a car mechanic saying that a gear shifter is not needed to drive. You gotta love service centers for trying to dumb down problems to make them sound better. I had the same problem on my 05 S, but I took it down because I could not get it started until they replaced the unit. And pushing your bike down the street in order to jump start it just looks so uncool.

Well i guess a clutch switch isnt a problem...IF THE BIKE IS RUNNING.   :D   You can inform your dealer that it might be a bit of an issue if your 100 miles away and it quits before you have to start it.

Personaly after mine failed on the GT I bypassed it (from memory, 2 yellow wires under front portion of the tank, just splice them together.)  Between the neutral, and kickstand switch you really dont need it.)
