Oil change
« on: April 07, 2006, 06:26:54 AM »

Hi All . Would like to know if it is necessary to do engine flush if change from example sasol sapphire 15w40 to castrol actevo semi synthetic 10w40 oil or vice versa . They reckon not to put synthetic oil in new engine . My bike already had running in service and is now on 2000km on the clock . Can you just drain oil and replace oil filter and put in new brand oil . Currently already changed from sasol to castrol actevo semi synthetic . Must I rather change back up to about 10 000km .

you don't need to flush the engine.like you said..just put on new filter and change to new brand of oil.there is also no reason why you can't use synthetic.many motorcycles come new with synthetic in the bike.have a great day and happy riding.
