is it a stock tail light?  did you try a new bulb?

so your brake light is always on? sounds like a sticking switch either front or rear. make sure the lever/ pedal isnt always putting pressure on the swith button or try unplugging one at a time to determine which is the issue

hey i had the same issue but the other way around , my light didnt work usually , only worked whn i hit the front brake.
turned out to be the bulb.
so try changing it , its easy to do it.

Are you sure it's the break light that's on? It's most likely the rear running light that you are seeing. Lift up the rear seat and twist out the rear light and have a look at the bulb, you should see two filaments between the two sets of posts. If you only see one then your lamp has failed and you'll need to replace it. Trust me, it's a five min job.

I had that problem with my new 09 um v2s 250r.  For the front brake I look right just beyond the brake and notice there was a loose wire. it was like a male/female connection piece. so i just plugged it back in and haven't had issues since.  hopefully that will help you.

YES, i see two filaments & both of them is on all the time.

actually it happend since i dropped my bike..
it was very gentle drop.. just minor scratch on the bottom of the cowling, right mirror & front brake lever (hardly noticeable)

master cylinder problem... may be..

which side did you drop it on. after I crashed the rear brake switch went out. but that caused the brake light not to work. also if you the lever was moved it could have inched up the bar and could be rubbing. I did this once by accident.

Ok M8, sounds like the problem is going to be with the front brake switch. When you damaged the lever you might have damaged the switch which is behind it. Before you start ripping it apart do a simple check - stick your ear down by the front brake lever and operate the brake you should hear a slight 'clicking' sound. This is the front brake light switch operating. If you hear no click you may have jammed the little plunger in the switch when you dropped, then you need to check it out.
